Weekly Drum Routine

Weekly Drum Routine — Sample Activity

This is one activity from a content bank of 600+ classroom-ready music activities. Explore it anytime and unlock them all with Kidstrument.

Kidstrument is made up of activities that are repeated and remixed to offer varied and flexible teaching. Each activity is part of a wider module with many versions.

Overview

In these fun and energetic sessions, children will practice basic drumming skills right from their desks! Each child should be seated comfortably with enough space around them to move freely without bumping into others. Using videos as a guide, the children will tap their feet and gently hit the desk to mimic the sounds of a full drum kit.

The activities focus on building essential drumming skills such as hand-eye coordination, timing, rhythm, and learning to use both the left and right hand independently. It’s the perfect way to introduce the techniques and discipline needed to become a drummer — all in a safe, controlled, and exciting environment!
